The Acropolis of Monemvasia is the upper fortified section of the famous medieval castle town of Monemvasia in the Peloponnese.

Perched high on a massive rocky island above the lower town, it served as the administrative, military, and defensive center of this important Byzantine stronghold. Visitors reach the acropolis by following a steep historic path that leads to impressive fortifications, gates, cisterns, and the ruins of former residences and public buildings.
