Al Fateh Grand Mosque
Manama, Bahrain
Al Fateh Grand Mosque in Manama, Bahrain, is one of the largest mosques in the world, built between 1983 and 1988 by Sheikh Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and named after Bahrain’s founder Ahmed Al Fateh. Covering 6,500 square meters, it can accommodate over 7,000 worshippers.
Its standout feature is the massive 60-ton fiberglass dome, the largest of its kind globally, supported by two tall minarets. The mosque’s interior is lavishly decorated with Italian marble floors, teakwood doors from India, a grand Austrian chandelier, and elegant Arabic Kufic calligraphy on the walls.
Beyond serving as a place of worship, it houses Bahrain’s National Library and offers guided tours, making it a major religious, cultural, and tourist landmark.
