Alaminos Tower, also known locally as Koulas, is a well-preserved medieval watchtower located near the village of Alaminos in the Larnaca District of Cyprus.

Built in the 15th century, the stone tower formed part of a network of coastal lookout towers that helped protect the island from potential attacks and monitored activity along the southeastern coast. Standing about 8 meters tall and consisting of three floors, the tower served as an observation post where guards could communicate with other watchtowers using visual signals to warn of danger.

It was an important element of Cyprus’s medieval defense system during the Frankish and Venetian periods. Today, Alaminos Tower remains one of the village’s most notable historic landmarks. Its simple but distinctive architecture offers visitors a glimpse into Cyprus’s medieval past and the island’s efforts to defend its coastline centuries ago.
