Amwaj Island Bahrain
Galali, Bahrain, Bahrain
Amwaj Island (often called Amwaj Islands) is a cluster of nine artificial islands in the Persian Gulf northeast of Bahrain, part of the Muharraq Governorate, about 10–11 kilometers northeast of Manama and very close to Bahrain International Airport. Developed from marine land reclamation starting in the early 2000s, the islands combine residential neighborhoods, hotels, marinas, and commercial towers in a planned “waterfront city” style, with a circular marina, boardwalks, and sea‑facing apartments and villas. The area is known for its modern hotels such as the ART Hotel & Resort, The Grove, Ramada by Wyndham, and several beach and lagoon‑style recreational spots, making it a popular base for both tourists and expatriates. Connected to Muharraq by twin causeways, Amwaj offers a mix of urban living, leisure, and sea views, functioning as a compact island‑style district close to the capital and the airport.
