The Ancient Weapons Museum, also known as the Sammarinese Museum of Ancient Arms, is a small arms museum housed in the Cesta Tower, the second and highest of San Marino’s three main towers on Monte Titano in the city of San Marino. The museum opened in 1956 thanks to the donation of a local arms collector and displays around 1,500–2,000 pieces of historic weaponry and armor, including swords, spears, breastplates, war axes, and later firearms such as arquebuses, wheel‑locks, and experimental 19th‑century weapons, spread across four rooms inside the tower. The collection traces the evolution of military arms from the late medieval period through the early modern era and is part of San Marino’s State Museums network. Perched at about 755 meters above sea level, the Cesta Tower offers not only this compact but rich military exhibition but also panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, making the museum a popular stop on the classic route linking the three towers of San Marino.
