Anderson Park in Townsville, Australia, is a 20-hectare botanical garden located in the suburb of Mundingburra, known for its impressive collection of tropical and dry tropics plants.

Established with land acquired in 1929, the park was named in 1932 after William Anderson, Townsville’s first Curator of Parks who served from 1878 to 1934. The gardens feature diverse plant collections, including tropical trees, palms, pandanus, and one of the world’s largest public collections of Australian Pandanus. The park also includes a conservatory housing rare tropical plants like bromeliads, orchids, and pitcher plants.

Designed in the 1960s by landscape architect Alan Wilson, Anderson Park offers walking trails, picnic areas, and a tropical fruit orchard, serving as both a public recreational space and an educational site focused on native and regional flora. The garden suffered significant tree loss during Cyclone Yasi in 2011 but has been actively restored over the years.
