The Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden, located near Port Augusta on the shores of Upper Spencer Gulf, showcases plants native to Australia's arid regions in a natural setting of over 250 hectares. Established in the early 1990s and opened in 1996, the garden focuses on conserving and promoting understanding of arid zone flora, featuring diverse habitats like woodlands, sand dunes, and saltbush plains.

It hosts one of the largest collections of Eremophila (emu bush) species, along with other rare and native plants. Visitors can explore the garden through several walking trails with stunning views of the Spencer Gulf and Flinders Ranges, as well as enjoy birdwatching at dedicated hides.

The garden also includes an interpretive center, a café, a gift shop, and a children’s nature play area to engage families and encourage environmental education.
