The Bahrain National Museum in Manama is the largest and oldest public museum in Bahrain, opened in 1988 and located on an artificial peninsula overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Designed by Danish architects Krohn & Hartvig Rasmussen, its sleek exterior features white travertine marble, creating a striking yet simple geometric form that blends with the surrounding landscape.

Inside, the museum houses nine spacious exhibition halls covering over 6,000 years of Bahrain’s history, showcasing artifacts from ancient civilizations like Dilmun, Tylos, and Islamic periods, along with displays on traditional Bahraini customs, crafts, and manuscripts.

The museum also offers temporary exhibitions, an art gallery, a lecture hall, a gift shop, and a café with views of a tranquil water feature. It serves as a cultural hub hosting educational events and is a key tourist attraction offering a vivid journey through Bahrain’s rich heritage.
