Praia da Terra Estreita (also called Santa Luzia Beach) is a tranquil, mostly deserted stretch of golden-white sand located at the narrowest part of Tavira Island in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, where the island narrows to just about 250 meters wide, creating a tongue of sand roughly 50 meters wide.

Accessible only by a 10-minute boat ride from the picturesque fishing village of Santa Luzia (departing every 15–30 minutes from June to October) or by a 30-minute walk west from Ilha de Tavira Beach, this hidden gem remains uncrowded even in peak summer, attracting mostly locals and those seeking peace and solitude.

The beach features vast, clean, soft sand, warm crystal-clear waters, attractive sea daffodil flowers, and good facilities including a beach bar, toilets, lifeguards during bathing season, rental beds and umbrellas, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, and water sports options like surfing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, canoeing, and sailing.

Located between the more popular Ilha de Tavira and Barril beaches, Terra Estreita offers a serene, almost wild environment perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying nature without the crowds typical of Algarve beaches.
