Verified Beersel Castle

Beersel, Belgium, Belgium

Beersel Castle is a well-preserved medieval moated fortress in Beersel, just south of Brussels, and one of the best examples of military castle architecture in Belgium.

It was built around 1300–1357 to help defend the Duchy of Brabant, and its red-brick towers, thick walls, and water-filled moat still give it a strong, imposing look today. The castle has been restored several times over the centuries and is now open to visitors as a historic landmark.
