Brava is the smallest inhabited island in Cabo Verde at 67 square kilometers, located in the Sotavento group as the southernmost island, renowned as the greenest and most floral due to its misty microclimate from Fogo's lee that supports lush valleys, endemic plants, and frequent fog.

Its capital, Vila Nova Sintra, sits in a volcanic crater at about 500 meters elevation, featuring colonial sobrados, cobblestone streets, vibrant flowers like hibiscus and bougainvillea, and landmarks such as Praça Eugénio Tavares square and a replica of Columbus's Santa Maria ship.

Home to around 7,000 people, Brava offers serene hikes to Monte Fontainhas peak at 976 meters, natural pools at Fajã d'Água bay, fishing village Furna, viewpoints like Nossa Senhora do Monte, and cultural spots including acidic Fonte do Vinagre springs and Cachaço's goat cheese, blending rugged coasts, mountains, and tranquil village life.
