Bubnjarci is a small rural village in Žakanje municipality, Karlovac County, Croatia, situated along the Kupa River right on the Slovenian border at coordinates 45°38′39″N 15°21′32″E, covering 1.9 square kilometers with a population of 197 as of 2021.
Formerly known as St. Kosma and Damian until 1918, its name derives from "bubnjar" meaning drummer, honoring 15th-16th century inhabitants who served as signal drummers for knights from Ozalj and Ribnik against Turkish invasions.
First mentioned in the 15th century with an important namesake manor house and castle ruins visible on 1860 cadastral maps, it features a prominent 1753 Baroque Chapel of Sveti Kriz with its old cemetery and two 19th-century altars amid traditional houses, farmland, and an abandoned 1900 railway building near the Bubnjarci-Metlika bridge.
