Califfi Castle
Klis, Croatia, Croatia
Califfi Castle (Dvorac Califfi) is a 17th-century Baroque-style fortress located in the town of Califfi on Ugljan Island, Croatia, in the Zadar archipelago off Dalmatia's northern coast.
Built by the noble Califfi family as their summer residence and defensive stronghold, it later came under stewardship of the Bercich (Berčić) family from Zadar, who managed it until the structure adopted their name in local lore.
Featuring robust stone walls, a central courtyard, and panoramic Adriatic views amid olive groves and pine forests, the castle stands as a well-preserved example of Venetian-era architecture now serving cultural events and tourism.
