Carcavelos Beach is a large, popular beach in the Lisbon coastal area, located in the municipality of Oeiras between the historic Fort of São Julião da Barra and the town of Parede, about 20–25 minutes by train from central Lisbon.

It boasts one of the widest stretches of sand on the Lisbon coast, running roughly 1 to 1.5 kilometers, and is known for its strong Atlantic waves that attract surfers, windsurfers, and bodyboarders, as well as regular beach‑sports competitions in volleyball and football. The beach is lifeguard‑supervised in summer, carrying a Blue Flag, and offers toilets, showers, sunbed and umbrella rentals, several bars and restaurants along the front, and a lively promenade that stays popular even in winter among surf‑focused visitors.

Its easy train access, good parking, and mix of strong waves and a broad, family‑friendly sandy area make it one of the most visited and versatile beaches near the Portuguese capital.
