Cardigos River Beach, also known locally as Praia Fluvial de Cardigos, is a well‑developed freshwater beach in the Mação municipality of central Portugal, reached by a short drive from the village of Cardigos along the road toward the Valleys.

It lies on the Vergancinho River near the Vergancinho Dam and is known for its exceptionally clear, cool water, which is clean and inviting for swimming and wading. The site feels more like a small water park than a wild river: it has a long pool‑like bathing area, separate zones for adults and children, shaded grassy lawns, a small sandy strip, barbecues, picnic tables, and a contemporary bar–restaurant with terrace overlooking the water.

There are lifeguards in summer, toilets, ample parking, and a generally family‑oriented, safe atmosphere, making it a popular spot for day‑trippers from Lisbon and the Central Interior who want a clean, well‑equipped river beach with easy access and good facilities.
