Castle the Donnea, known in Dutch as Kasteel de Donnea, is a historic residence in Guigoven, a village in the municipality of Kortessem just south of Hasselt in Belgium’s Limburg province, situated in a quiet, green landscape typical of the Haspengouw region.

The main building of the castle was constructed between 1801 and 1803 in a restrained neoclassical style, giving it a simple, elegant appearance with a rectangular block, symmetrical façade and regular fenestration rather than the more ornate, tower‑rich look of medieval or romantic castles.

The estate is named after the de Donnea family, who were prominent local landowners and whose name also appears among grave stones and monuments in nearby chapels, linking the castle to the broader social and religious history of the area. Over time the property developed into a country estate with landscaped gardens and parkland, valued for its architectural clarity, its setting in the open fields and small woods around Guigoven, and its role as one of the more refined 19th‑century “castles” in the Hasselt–Kortessem landscape.
