Verified Château Bernalmont

Liège, Belgium, Belgium

Château Bernalmont is a historic manor house and estate on the heights of Liège in Belgium, originally a seigneurial property whose name derives from a 13th‑century resident called “Bernard” with the suffix “mont,” giving the family name de Bernalmont, whose coat of arms still ornaments the 18th‑century main façade.

After centuries in which the site was closely linked to local coal mining operations—particularly the Compagnie de la Grande Bacnure, which owned the château from 1919—the building fell into ruin by the end of the 20th century and was then completely restored around 2010.

A brief attempt to convert it into a hotel was abandoned, and today the château has been reconverted into upscale apartments and a small boutique bed‑and‑breakfast/hotel complex set within a large green park that includes a 9‑hole golf course.

The property, located at 113 Rue des Petites Roches in Liège, offers elegantly styled rooms and apartments with private bathrooms, modern amenities such as flat‑screen TVs and free Wi‑Fi, and views over the grounds and golf course, while it is situated about 3 km from Herstal station and roughly 15–19 km from Liège city centre and Liège Airport.
