Château de Biron is a historic castle located in the Dordogne region of France, named after the Gontaut-Biron family who held it for nearly eight centuries.

Originally built in the 12th century as a medieval fortress, it evolved over time into a grand Renaissance residence marked by a blend of medieval, Renaissance, and classical architectural styles. The castle features a 12th-century keep, 16th-century living quarters, a chapel, and vaulted kitchens.

Throughout history, it endured multiple sieges and changes in ownership, including periods under the Cathars, Plantagenets, and French royalty. The château was bought by the Dordogne department in 1978 to prevent its ruin and has since been restored as a cultural and tourist attraction.

It hosts various events and exhibitions while offering visitors panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and a glimpse into centuries of architectural and family history.
