Château de Bonneville
Andenne, Belgium, Belgium
The Château de Bonneville is a historic stately home located in the hamlet of Bonneville, within the municipality of Andenne in the province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium.
Originally a simple farmhouse with a 15th‑century donjon (a square defensive tower), the site was transformed into a proper château in the early 17th century after its 1617 purchase by Jacques de Zualart, a wealthy man and former mayor of Namur, who began extensive rebuilding in the characteristic Mosan style with alternating bands of brick and limestone.
His son Tilmant continued the construction but eventually ruined himself financially, leading the property around 1690 to pass to his main creditor, Jean‑Hubert de Tignée, whose family has owned the château for ten generations and still owns it today.
