Château de Froidcour
Stoumont, Belgium, Belgium
Château de Froidcour in Stoumont, Belgium, is a neo-medieval castle built between 1912 and 1919, perched high above the Amblève valley.
Though it has the appearance of an ancient fortress with its towers and imposing design, its construction is relatively modern, replacing an earlier noble residence that had been home to the de Lynden family, barons of Froidcour, since the 16th century.
The château is listed as a Walloon heritage site and is surrounded by over 50 hectares of countryside offering scenic views and outdoor activities such as forest walks, skiing, and mountain biking. A unique feature is a small room at the top of one of its towers known as the "falcon’s nest," which can be rented for a romantic and unique stay with stunning views over the valley. The château blends historical architecture with natural beauty and remains a notable landmark in the Ardennes region.
