Verified Château de Pailhe

Clavier, Liège, Belgium, Belgium

The Château de Pailhe is a 18th‑century fortified manor house in the village of Pailhe, part of the commune of Clavier in the Condroz region of Liège province, Belgium, originally built in 1640 by the Prince‑Bishop of Liège at the border between the Prince‑Bishopric and the Namur territory and later transformed into its present form in the 18th century.

The estate became the residence of the noble family de Liedekerke from the mid‑18th century onward, and the château is set in a large park that includes a chapel, a gatehouse, stables and a former farm, forming a typical “château‑ferme” complex typical of the Condroz landscape, with a main building facing the approach road, surrounded by trees and open spaces.

Today the Domaine du Château de Pailhe is privately owned by Antoine and Ségolène, who have turned the site into a rural holiday and event destination, offering accommodation in the main château (for up to 18 people) and several smaller holiday gîtes for 2–4 persons, while also hosting weddings, receptions and similar events in its historic buildings and gardens; the property is not a public museum or regular tourist attraction, but can be admired from the road and, on special occasions, may be visited by guests booking stays or events there.
