Château de Skeuvre
Hamois, Belgium, Belgium
Château de Skeuvre is a historic private castle located in the village of Skeuvre, within the municipality of Hamois in the province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium.
The estate dates mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries and features a compact main building with four corner towers, built in local stone and brick on a gently rolling, wooded site. It is especially famous in popular culture as the real‑life model that cartoonist André Franquin used to design the fictional Château de Champignac in the Spirou et Fantasio comics.
The castle was burned by German forces in May 1940 but was fully rebuilt in a neoclassical style, preserving its distinctive silhouette and central role in the local heritage landscape.
