Verified Chateau de Tihange

Huy, Belgium, Belgium

The Château de Tihange is a historic manor house in the town of Huy, Belgium, best known today as a large group accommodation and hotel rather than a public castle or museum.

The building, which dates back to at least the 16th century and was earlier called “Château l’Évêque” and nowadays “Château Poswick,” is set in a quiet residential area on Rue du Centre and is surrounded by a 6‑hectare English‑style park with winding paths, sports fields, a children’s playground, barbecue areas, and a swimming pool.

Its main façade is decorated with coats of arms and gargoyles, and it features a distinctive tower with a pointed roof, an interior courtyard, old stables, and richly preserved interior decorations, while the interior now offers numerous spacious rooms, lounges, dining areas, a games room, several bedrooms, and self‑catering facilities for groups of up to 30–40 people.

Although the château is not open for regular guided tours, it is frequently used for family celebrations, friend gatherings, seminars, and company events, and it is valued for its authentic historic atmosphere combined with modern comfort and its proximity to the historic town of Huy and the fortress museum just over a kilometre away.
