Chateau des Amerois, located near Bouillon in Belgium, is a 19th-century neo-Gothic castle built between 1874 and 1877 for Prince Philippe, Count of Flanders, after the original manor was destroyed by fire.

The château features a richly decorated chapel with polychrome paintings and stands amid extensive grounds that once included greenhouses with thousands of plant species and grand stables, reflecting the prince's passion for hunting. Over the years, the estate passed through several owners, including notable families like the Solvays, and while briefly occupied by German soldiers during World War I, it avoided major damage. The castle is surrounded by redwoods and extensive gardens, adding to its majestic setting in the Ardennes forest.

Despite its serene appearance, the château has attracted numerous conspiracy theories over the years, often dubbed the “Mothers of Darkness Castle,” although these claims lack credible evidence. Today, it remains a private property belonging to descendants of its last owners, retaining its historical and architectural grandeur.
