Château du Guirbaden is a vast medieval castle ruin located near Mollkirch in the Bas-Rhin department of Alsace, northeastern France.

Perched on a forested hill above the Bruche Valley at an elevation of about 565 meters, it is considered the largest castle in Alsace, covering approximately two hectares. Originally built in the 11th century and later expanded by Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II in the 13th century, the fortress served to protect the nearby Abbey of Altdorf and played an important role in regional politics and defense.

Over the centuries, it was repeatedly damaged, rebuilt, and changed hands before being destroyed during conflicts in the 17th century. Today, visitors can explore impressive remains including the keep, sections of the defensive walls, the main residential building, towers, and the Saint-Valentin chapel. The castle's dramatic setting offers panoramic views of the Bruche Valley and the Alsace plain.

Protected as a French historic monument since 1898, Château du Guirbaden is a popular destination for hikers and history enthusiasts, with ongoing conservation and restoration efforts helping to preserve this remarkable medieval landmark.
