Verified Château du Trumly

Trooz, Belgium, Belgium

Château du Trumly is a private 19th‑century château located on the heights above the town of Trooz in the province of Liège, in the Wallonia region of Belgium.

It was built by the same architect who designed the Trooz railway station and is notable for its interior chapel and for having been occupied by the chanoine Louvrex, while the estate gained added importance thanks to Léon de Locht, an engineer and inventor of the “pantéphone,” who expanded the property.

The château is surrounded by a wooded park containing remarkable trees, including a large pedunculate oak with more than 4 metres of circumference and an old chestnut, and it is mentioned in local walking routes such as Promenade 3 of the Trooz PCDR as a historic point of interest in the village landscape.
