Château de MontPlaisir is a restored 17th-century private mansion and wine estate in Valréas in the Vaucluse department of southern France, in the heart of Provence within the Enclave des Papes, rather than a medieval fortress or Belgian castle.

Built at the end of the 17th century by Joseph Merles, a doctor of law and bailiff of Grignan and general judge in Valréas, the stone house was the residence of the noble Merles des Rochettes family and was constructed from limestone from the Gard quarries, set on a wooded hill above the Valréas plain and oriented west to give a wide view over the Ardèche and the Massif Central.

Today Château de MontPlaisir operates as a wine property and guest house: it produces red, white and rosé wines in the Cru Vinsobres and Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas appellations, offers wine tours, tastings, seminars and events, and provides five luxury guest rooms and a two-bedroom apartment that can be rented individually or as a whole for family gatherings, team-building days, and wine tourism stays.
