The Commanderij van Gruitrode is a historic and culturally important site in the village of Gruitrode, part of the municipality of Oudsbergen in northern Belgian Limburg, originally one of the twelve commanderies of the Teutonic Order that were subordinate to the landcommander of Alden Biesen.

Until 1801 the commandery consisted of a castle separated by water channels from a square courtyard farm, and its strategic and economic importance was demonstrated by the fact that coins were minted in Gruitrode and the settlement grew into a regional trading centre. The castle itself is a 15th‑century watchtower or guard post, built to protect the area and the lands of the Teutonic Order, and over the centuries it became a central monument in the village, surrounded by grasslands that link the historic core with the extensive natural area known as the Duinengordel, which is part of National Park Hoge Kempen.

From 2024 a phased, multi‑million‑euro restoration programme began to transform the site into a cultural and tourist hub, combining the rehabilitation of the castle and historic farm buildings with the creation of event spaces, a modern cafeteria and a large flexible hall, while also developing the Commanderij as a “gate” to the Duinengordel with parking, bike facilities and guided routes for walkers and cyclists.
