Cova Redonda Beach
Portugal, Portugal
Cova Redonda Beach, or Praia da Cova Redonda, is a small, sheltered cove on the south‑central Algarve coast near the village of Porches, set between high golden cliffs and known for its calm, turquoise water and photogenic rock formations.
It is often described as a “hidden” beach because access is by a long, narrow stone staircase down the cliff, which keeps it quieter than the bigger resort beaches nearby. The sand is fine but mixed with small shells and patches of rock, and the cove feels intimate and romantic, with shallow, generally calm water at the eastern end that is fairly safe for wading, though there are no restrooms or permanent facilities.
In summer part of the beach is equipped with sunbeds, parasols, and lifeguards, and it is popular with couples and visitors from nearby hotels who enjoy snorkeling, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing in a scenic, low‑crowd setting.
