Fish River Canyon in the ǁKaras Region of southern Namibia is the largest canyon in Africa and the second largest in the world, stretching about 160 kilometers long, up to 27 kilometers wide, and reaching depths of nearly 550 meters. It was formed over millions of years by the erosive power of the Fish River, which is Namibia's longest interior river, running through rugged and arid terrain with drought-resistant vegetation.

The canyon features dramatic cliffs, rocky landscapes, and deep ravines carved into ancient metamorphic rock, and is part of the Ai-Ais/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking viewpoints, a famous 85-kilometer multi-day hiking trail through the canyon, and see diverse wildlife including baboons, mountain zebras, and various birds.

The area also includes hot springs at Ai-Ais, known for their therapeutic properties.
