Fort Amiel Museum in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is a cultural history museum housed in a restored British military fort built in 1876 on a hill overlooking the town.

The fort originally served as a commissariat depot, transit camp and hospital for British forces during the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 and the Anglo-Boer Wars, and several soldiers wounded in these conflicts were treated there. Today the site includes reconstructed or restored buildings such as the guardhouse, cookhouse, blacksmith’s workshop, magazine and other service structures, along with displays that interpret both the military history of the fort and the broader social history of Newcastle’s diverse communities.

As part of the Northern KwaZulu-Natal Battlefields Route, the museum functions as an educational and research center, offering archives, school programmes and public exhibits in a setting that also serves as a scenic picnic and braai area for visitors.
