Four Mile Beach

Four Mile Beach is a long, palm‑fringed stretch of white sand along the Coral Sea, forming the main beach in the town of Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland, Australia.

It runs about four miles (roughly 6–7 km) along the eastern side of the Port Douglas peninsula, with the town centre just a short walk from its southern end and the sea dipping under the palms at high tide. The beach is popular for swimming, with lifeguards and stinger nets patrolling the northern section, while the firm sand and flat shoreline also make it ideal for jogging, cycling, and relaxed beach‑front strolls.

The southern end borders a mangrove area and the northern edge leads up to Flagstaff Hill, a small lookout offering great views of the bay and sunrise over the ocean, and the beach often hosts events such as the Port Douglas Carnivale, triathlons, and running festivals.
