Foxwood House in Houghton Estate, Johannesburg, is an elegant boutique hotel set in a 1920s historic manor house, surrounded by about 2.5 acres of lush, tree-filled gardens that create a quiet, park-like atmosphere despite its central location.

Originally designed in 1926 by architect F.L.H. Fleming in the Baker tradition and later owned for decades by the Oates family, it retains strong old-world charm with antique furnishings and period details, while offering modern guest suites, a restaurant, conference facilities and a small theatre that hosts performances and events.

Today it functions as both a heritage-rich guesthouse and cultural venue, providing tranquil accommodation, pool and garden spaces, and intimate venues for meetings, functions and arts events close to Johannesburg’s main business districts.
