Frauenberg is a small commune in the Moselle department of the Grand Est region in northeastern France, situated near the natural border with Germany along the Blies River. The village developed historically between the municipalities of Blies-Ebersing and Blies-Schweyen and extends along the main road toward Sarreguemines, located about 5 kilometers away.

Frauenberg's origins date back to the 14th century when it was mentioned as "Frauenburg" in a charter linking the local lords who owned the castle there. The name Frauenberg comes from a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary on a hill, which inspired the village's name. Frauenberg has a historical Jewish community that settled there in the late 15th century, contributing to its population and culture.

The village also has a history of milling and hydraulic power generation. During World War II, it experienced evacuations and was later liberated by American forces. Today, Frauenberg is a small community of around 600 inhabitants known as Frauenbergeois, benefiting from its scenic location and proximity to Sarreguemines.​
