Holloways Beach is a quiet, family‑friendly beach and coastal suburb just north of Cairns in Queensland, Australia, about 10–15 minutes by car along the coastal highway.

It lies on the northern side of the Barron River delta, with a roughly 1.8–2.5 km stretch of soft sand bordered by creeks and mangrove flats, giving it a relaxed, tropical feel despite its proximity to the city. The beach faces the Coral Sea and is generally calm, protected by stinger nets in summer and patrolled by lifeguards, making it safe for swimming and suitable for young children and casual sunbathers.

Behind the sand there is a mix of low‑rise apartments, houses, and a small resort, with a shaded esplanade, picnic tables, barbecues, a playground, and regular markets that add to its laid‑back, resort‑style atmosphere.
