Horsham Botanic Gardens in Australia were established in the 1870s and were designed by William Guilfoyle, a renowned botanist also responsible for Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

The gardens originally covered about 37 acres, though only about eight acres remain today. Located along the Wimmera River, the gardens feature winding paths, mature trees dating back to the late 1800s, rose gardens, colorful floral displays, and a variety of native and exotic trees and shrubs. Visitors can enjoy picnic facilities, a children’s playground, and public art sculptures that reflect the relationship between nature and sustainable land use.

The gardens also focus on plant collections representing local landscapes such as the Grampians and Mt Arapiles-Tooan State Park. New interpretive signage across the gardens helps visitors learn about the plant species held there.
