Jardín Botánico de Portoviejo is a preserved green oasis in Portoviejo, Ecuador, managed by the Universidad Técnica de Manabí since its inception in 1993 as a center for conserving endangered native plants, serving as an arboretum, orquideario, palmetum, and wildlife rescue area spanning 50 hectares including a 37-hectare nature reserve. 

Located north of the city along Av. Urbina near Che Guevara, it offers shaded trails under tall trees, a turtle pond, playgrounds, picnic spots, and educational exhibits on tropical dry forest species, providing a cool respite from Manabí's heat with free entry, guided tours, and sales of organic compost and plants.

Popular for family outings, photography, and environmental learning, it combats regional deforestation while fostering biodiversity research and community recreation.
