Kasteel Van Huizingen
Beersel, Belgium, Belgium
Kasteel Van Huizingen is a historic castle in the village of Huizingen, part of the municipality of Beersel in Flemish Brabant, Belgium, sitting at the heart of the large Provinciaal Domein Huizingen just south of Brussels.
The castle’s history stretches back to at least 1491, when it first appears in records, and although the original building was partly destroyed by fire in the 16th century it was later rebuilt and transformed into a handsome example of Flemish neo‑Renaissance architecture.
Today the structure functions as a venue for weddings, conferences, and other events, with a restaurant and multiple event halls, while the surrounding 90‑plus hectare provincial domain offers a forest, walking paths, a rock garden, a small animal park, and seasonal access that is free in winter and ticketed in spring and summer.
