Kasteel van Westmalle, located in the village of Westmalle within the municipality of Malle in Belgium's Antwerp province, originated as a fortified farm called Hof ten Driesche around 1100 and was transformed into a noble castle by the de Cotereau family in 1561.
The estate evolved over centuries with additions like a landscaped park, maze, and avenues, passing through noble owners including knights and barons before major renovations in 1878 that shaped its current appearance.
Protected as a monument since 1977 and a historic landscape since then, the castle and its expansive grounds were acquired by Stichting Kempens Landschap in early 2024, with plans to partially open it to the public after renovations expected around spring 2025.
