Kasteeldomein Axelwalle is a historic estate in the village of Heurne, part of Oudenaarde in East Flanders, Belgium, named after a medieval lordship and castle that once gave identity to this small community near Zingem.

The original 15th‑century castle Axelwalle was largely destroyed by the Geuzen in 1566, rebuilt in 1580 on a moated terrace, burned down in 1700, and then replaced in 1780 by a Neo‑Classical residence; this building was severely damaged during the First World War and reconstructed in 1924 according to pre‑war plans by Ghent architect Stephan Mortier, with later extensions in 1955 giving the present late‑Classical, slightly Neo‑Rococo‑inflected main house.

The estate has been owned since 1718 by the family de Thibault de Boesinghe, and its park was developed in the 19th century in landscape style, with a large pond, winding paths, groups of trees and small groves, later restored after the war and today forming a heavily wooded, tranquil setting around the castle and its moat. The domain also preserves historical traces such as a British command post from World War I to the west of the castle, an old stone fruit wall near the former vegetable garden, and a polygonal pavilion that once stood by the moat, all contributing to its layered cultural and military history. 

Kasteeldomein Axelwalle thus represents a continuous sequence of medieval fortification, Classicist residence, wartime destruction and early‑20th‑century reconstruction, embedded in a carefully managed park and long‑standing noble family ownership that links the estate to the broader history of the Heurne–Eine–Axelwalle lordships in the Oudenaarde region.
