Ko Phi Phi Don
Ao Nang, Thailand, Thailand
Ko Phi Phi Don is the largest and only permanently inhabited island in the Phi Phi archipelago in southern Thailand, administratively linked to Ao Nang in Krabi Province.
It is a small, stunning island of about 10 square kilometers, almost split into two parts by a narrow, sandy isthmus where the main village and most resorts sit. The island is famous for its dramatic limestone cliffs, white‑sand beaches, and crystal‑clear waters that make it ideal for snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and boat trips to nearby Maya Bay on the uninhabited Phi Phi Leh.
Ko Phi Phi Don is very popular with tourists from Phuket and Krabi, offering lively beach bars and budget stays on one side and quieter luxury resorts and sunset‑facing coves on the other, all within a protected national‑park setting in the Andaman Sea.
