Kololi is a lively coastal resort town on the Atlantic coast of The Gambia, near Serrekunda and just south of Banjul, that serves as a main hub for international tourists visiting the country.

It is best known for its long, wide strip of golden sand backed by hotels, restaurants, markets, and a bustling nightlife scene, especially along the Senegambia Strip, which is lined with bars, clubs, and stalls selling handicrafts and souvenirs. The area blends busy tourist activity with quieter residential‑style streets and is close to the Bijilo Forest Park, where visitors can watch monkeys and other wildlife.

Kololi’s beach is popular for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports, though strong currents mean swimmers should follow local advice, and the region is visited most often in the dry season between November and April for warm, sunny weather.
