La Ferme du Chateau de Fisenne
Érezée, Belgium, Belgium
La Ferme du Château de Fisenne is a guest farm and part of the historic Château‑ferme de Fisenne in the village of Fisenne, part of Érezée on the border between the Ardennes and Famenne, in the province of Luxembourg, Wallonia, Belgium.
It is a 19th‑century farmhouse attached to the large medieval castle‑farm, offering four spacious guest rooms (one for four people and three for two or four) equipped with modern comfort but retaining the atmosphere of the 18th–19th centuries, with private bathrooms, and including breakfast and the possibility of lunch and dinner, while dogs are allowed and the property is a partner of the “grande randonnée sans bagages” long‑distance walking route.
The Château‑ferme de Fisenne itself is a recorded monument and classified site: its core is a medieval donjon (tower) probably built in the 11th or 12th century, surrounded by a quadrilateral of buildings about 70 × 50 metres forming a large internal courtyard with trees and lawns, with farm wings dating from the 17th century, later remodelled in the 19th century and again in 1939, and the whole complex (including the farmer’s house in the south‑east wing, garden, orchard and surrounding grounds) has been listed since 1998, with the walls and roofs of the towers and lookouts also protected since 1977.
