Founded by Coretta Scott King in 1968, The King Center is both a research and educational institution. Visitors can also view the final resting place of Dr. King and Coretta Scott King, beautifully situated on a reflecting pool.

This historic church is where Dr. King was baptized, ordained as a minister, and later served as co-pastor with his father. It was also the site of many key sermons during the Civil Rights Movement. The church has been preserved and restored, and visitors can listen to recordings of Dr. King's powerful sermons.

The park’s visitor center features powerful multimedia exhibits titled "Courage to Lead", highlighting Dr. King's role in the Civil Rights Movement. Exhibits include photographs, videos, and artifacts that trace the evolution of civil rights in America.

This beautifully landscaped garden, located in front of the visitor center, is filled with over 185 roses in a variety of colors. It symbolizes Dr. King's vision of peace and hope and is a serene place for reflection.

Freedom Hall houses galleries and exhibitions related to civil rights, world peace, and justice. It often features rotating exhibits that explore the work of global peace leaders who were inspired by Dr. King’s nonviolent ideals.

The Martin Luther King Jr. NHP is more than a tourist attraction—it is a sacred space that honors the struggle for freedom, equality, and justice. It serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made during the Civil Rights Movement and the enduring relevance of Dr. King's message of nonviolence and social change.
