Monte Verde is the highest point on São Vicente Island in Cabo Verde, rising to about 744 meters (2,441 feet) above sea level and located roughly 6 kilometers east of the city center of Mindelo.
It is part of the Monte Verde Natural Park, which spans about 3.12 square kilometers and hosts a greener, less arid microclimate than much of the island, supporting unique endemic plant species including 17 that are endangered.
The mountain offers a popular hiking destination with trails passing through lush vegetation, rewarding visitors with breathtaking panoramic views of Mindelo, the Atlantic Ocean, and nearby islands such as Santo Antão, Santa Luzia, and São Nicolau on clear days.
