The Neolithic Settlement of Choirokoitia (also known as Khirokitia) is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the eastern Mediterranean and provides a remarkable glimpse into life around 7000 BC.

Located in Cyprus, it was occupied from the 7th to the 4th millennium BC and is considered one of the best-preserved Neolithic settlements in the region. The settlement was made up of closely grouped circular stone-and-mud houses surrounded by protective walls, showing evidence of an organized farming community.

Archaeological discoveries have revealed details about early agriculture, animal husbandry, architecture, and daily life, helping researchers understand the development of human society. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998, Choirokoitia remains one of Cyprus’s most significant archaeological attractions.
