Odeceixe Mar Beach, or Praia de Odeceixe, is a striking Atlantic beach in the far northwest of the Algarve, right at the border between the Algarve and the Alentejo regions, within the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Natural Park.

It lies at the mouth of the Ribeira de Seixe river, where a wide stretch of golden sand meets the sea on one side and calm river water on the other, allowing visitors to enjoy both sea and river bathing in the same spot. The beach is part of Portugal’s “7 Wonders – Beaches” list and carries a Blue Flag, with easy access via a ramp and stairs, plus parking, toilets, a small bar, and seasonal lifeguards, as well as a short tourist convoy from the nearby village of Odeceixe.

It suits surfers, families, and nature lovers, with strong waves and a dramatic backdrop of high cliffs, plus a small naturist cove called Praia de Adegas just south of the main beach.
