Oricourt is a tiny rural commune in the Haute-Saône department of eastern France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.

Surrounded by forests and rolling countryside, it has a very small population and is known primarily for its remarkable medieval heritage. The village’s main attraction is the Château d’Oricourt, one of the best-preserved medieval fortified castles in Franche-Comté. Built in the 12th century, the castle features a rare double-walled design, imposing towers, deep moats, and historic buildings that illustrate life in the Middle Ages.

Over the centuries, the castle was owned by several notable families, including Nicolas Rolin, the famous Chancellor of Burgundy and founder of the Hospices de Beaune. Today, the château is open to visitors and remains the centerpiece of local tourism, making Oricourt a popular destination for those interested in history and medieval architecture.
