Parc et Chateau de Lexhy
Grâce-Hollogne, Belgium, Belgium
Parc et Château de Lexhy is a neoclassical castle in the hamlet of Lexhy, part of Grâce-Hollogne in Belgium's Liège Province, built in 1853 for Baron Joseph de Blanckart on a site with medieval origins dating back to the 11th century.
The rectangular mansion features a square campanile atop its roof and a grand facade with a Greek sarcophagus-style pediment bearing family armoiries, flanked by coach houses with towers around a serene courtyard and rose garden.
Enclosed by an imposing wall separating it from an older Romanesque chapel and monumental 17th-century farm U-shaped buildings with round corner towers, the 47-hectare estate includes a 7-hectare park with ancient trees, now converted after a 12-year restoration into apartments and ground-level homes managed by residents.
