Paz is a small village in Istria County, Croatia, known for its historical ruined castle and its location above an old road connecting river valleys.

First mentioned in the 12th century, Paz was once part of the Aquileia church estates and later came under the control of the Eberstein family, who built a fortress that was later managed and expanded by other noble families including the Walderstein and Barbo families.

The castle was affected by conflicts such as the War of the League of Cambrai when it was conquered and burned by Venice in 1508, but was quickly recaptured and renovated. The village and castle reflect a rich history of feudal disputes, religious tensions during the Reformation, and later abandonment in the 18th century, leaving today only ruins to mark its past prominence.
